How to Bid
Bidding
Only registered bidders can participate in our online auctions. To register, select the 'Register' button displayed on any of the left of the home page. Enter your contact information. After you have registered you will need to wait for your bidders number, which you will receive by e-mail. Then you will be able to bid. Select the auction of interest from the home page. Each auction has different Terms & Conditions so you must read them before you bid. When you bid, you are agreeing to the all the terms & conditions for that particular auction. You can now browse the items for auction by selecting a category or selecting 'ALL ITEMS.' To enter a bid you must have your bidders number and password available.
Questions About Posted Items
Each auction has a contact person for the seller. If you have any questions about the merchandise being sold, please contact the sellers contact person.
How to Enter Your Bids
You need to begin by selecting the auction that you are interested in viewing. When the bidding for the auction is open you will have the opportunity to enter your opening or maxbid for each item. Enter your bidding number and password at the bottom of the screen to submit the bid(s). If you enter a maxbid the system will automatically bid on your behalf up to your maxbid amount. For example, you originally placed a Maximum Bid amount of $65.00 and now you want to increase the maximum bid to $120.00, all you need to do is submit another bid for the $120.00 bid in the "Maximum Bid" box. You can also increase your Maximum Bid WITHOUT having to increase your own bid! Our Maximum Bidding Tool will now allow you to increase your Maximum Bid. For example, you originally placed a Maximum Bid amount of $65.00 and now you want to increase the maximum bid to $120.00, all you need to do is submit another bid for the $120.00 bid in the "Maximum Bid" box. As long as your previous Maximum Bid was at least 1 increment higher then any other bidders' Maximum Bid, the current price on the item will not change.
An example where the current price DOES NOT change when the maximum bid is raised...
- Bidder 1 places an opening bid of $20 and a maximum bid of $70.
- Since there are no other bids the current price will be $20.
- Bidder 2 places a $30 opening bid and a $55 maximum bid.
- We calculate the current price by taking the second highest bid made by another bidder ($55) and adding a single increment ($5). The current price is now $60.
- Bidder 1 wants to raise their maximum bid to $100. Since their previous maximum bid ($70) is more than 1 increment greater than any other bidders' maximum bid ($55) the current price stays at $60.00.
An example where the current price DOES change when the maximum bid is raised...
- Bidder 1 places an opening bid of $15 and a maximum bid of $40.
- Since there are no other bids the current price will be $15.
- Bidder 2 places a $20 opening bid and a $37 maximum bid.
- We calculate the current price by taking the second highest bid made by another bidder ($37) and adding a single increment ($5).
- Since that amount ($42) is greater than the maximum bid placed by bidder 1, the current price is now the maximum bid ($40).
- Bidder 1 wants to raise their maximum bid to $100. Since their previous maximum bid ($40) is less than 1 increment greater than any other bidders' maximum bid ($37) the current price is now $42.
What if I'm Outbid?
If you are outbid and the auction is still active, the system will automatically send you an e-mail every time you are outbid.
Ending the Auction
Each event will end at a particular time. Nevertheless, we use an auto-extend feature. With this feature, the bidding will maintain open on any item that has received a bid within the last 5 minutes. Once 5 minutes has lapsed without any bidding activity the bidding on the item will be closed.
Payment Method
When you win an item you will receive an e-mail (Invoice), which will give you complete details of your purchase. Payment in the form of a cashiers check or check with bank letter of guarantee is to be sent for next day delivery (overnight) to the address below. You may also make payment by wire transfer ($1000 or more) or certified check.
